Our fellow WiseUp members will talk about their experiences traveling on a bus from Evanston to Selma, Alabama for the Selma Civil Rights march in March of 1965. Hear how this was an outgrowth of their own personal activism, of the activism taking place in Evanston in the early ‘60’s, and how Evanstonians were organizing in ways that you will find interesting. You will also hear how a young African-American woman experienced Selma and its aftermath and how it changed her life and the life of the African-American community.
